Author Anna Staniszewski
Author Anna Staniszewski, whose books include My Cousin Mermaid and the Simon the Seahorse series, recently visited our kindergarten and 1st grade classes to teach students how to become an author, and what the process of writing a book actually looks like. In her interactive presentation, Anna described how her own experiences—including immigrating to the US as a child and her lifelong love of fairy tales— informs her work. She also gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the writing and publishing process as well as led the students in creating their own group version of a well-known fairy tale!
