Archeology for the 4th Graders!
As part of our final cultural arts and STEM program of the year, our 4th Graders got to be archeologists this past week! We welcomed Jeff Kotkin from Archeology 4 Schools, who first gave a class-wide presentation on what archeology is, and gave an overview of the theories of Native American migration, the clues we have and how archeologists find and interpret those clues.
Then, the students performed their very own excavation on the Brown School grounds! The students got to do different jobs, such as mappers, surveyors, excavators, sifters, measurers, and cleaners. They found lots of great items right here at our school!
